Men are used to keeping pens in the pocket of our shirts but interestingly our female counterparts never practice the same traditions. All of us have seen girls wearing formal shirts it work place or in the streets.

But have you ever wondered why they never use a pocket like men do. It is time that we analyze the practical reason behind it.

There are many reasons behind it. Women have always kept their stuff in handbags. They carry a lot more things when they are out on the streets than men do. Hence, using a handbag is a better idea as it can hold substantial amount of goods in it.

Men on the other hand are often found just carrying a pen and a purse for which a pocket is enough. Fashioners must have thought there is no use of adding extra piece of cloths to women’s shirts.

There are also issues related to comfort. Most young women don’t find it comfortable to keep stuff in front of their shirt as it draws attention. It can become quite awkward for most ladies.

Traditionally, it has never been in fashion too. No fashioner has ever used a front pocket for women clothing hence it is untested. Whenever pockets have been added as a new fashion statement it has always been fake pockets. Those were just for show, not of use.

This issue has been a topic of debate lately. Various fashion forums have discussed why pockets have not been used yet.

According to a young lady who replied to one such post, girls are much more comfortable carrying things in the pockets of their jeans. They don’t need a pocket in their shirts like boys do. It doesn’t even look nice and are not remotely comfortable.

Hence there are both practical and traditional reasons behind this. Some fashionistas are trying this an experiment now but we will have to wait and see if this becomes a trend. If we take history into consideration, this experiment will not be successful.
